Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Isaiah Shepard was shaped by an environment where nothing was handed out—everything was earned. From an early age, he carried an entrepreneurial spirit and a rare ability to recognize opportunity in the midst of chaos, a trait that would guide him throughout his life and career.
A proud graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School—one of Ohio’s most decorated institutions—Isaiah now serves on its Board of Directors, continuing to pour into the place that helped mold him.
Journey
Story Behind Mecca Capital
Isaiah’s journey led him to Arkansas State University, where he balanced the demands of being a Division I football player, a dedicated father, and a Logistics major. His talent and drive saw him competing in national logistics competitions, a foreshadowing of the strategic mind he would bring to the business world.
Upon graduation, he stepped into Corporate America, where over the course of a decade he rose through the ranks in Operations and Transportation. His career is marked by over $200 million in cost-saving projects, pioneering Multicultural Engagement Initiatives across entire divisions, and leading a workforce of 1,200 employees across 62 locations. But above all, his proudest achievement was developing dozens of leaders—helping others discover their passions and transform them into meaningful careers.
Fueled by his passion for leadership, problem-solving, and helping others succeed, Isaiah launched companies in both supply chain management and real estate. What began as a vision quickly grew into a thriving brand, ultimately leading to a successful exit. During this transition, he remained focused on growth—serving on multiple business and nonprofit boards, while immersing himself in the fast-evolving world of emerging technology.
Through international travel and studying the global economy, Isaiah founded Mecca Capital—a tech-driven consulting firm designed to be the operating force behind purpose-driven businesses. Rooted in his belief that everyone is created in the image of God, Mecca Capital is about helping passionate leaders build scalable, impactful businesses that serve their communities and the world.
